However, there are criteria you must fulfil; Proof of concept, track record of success, and you have to get through our deal team.

Good question: while we are currently still in beta, there are several ways we validate ownership and improve trust. First, we vet and verify all the records submitted to us by the listing entities. Our deal team goes over their financials and validates the value and integrity of the securities. Second, we work with a US broker dealing partner to provide regulatory cover for the offerings and ensure that they are fully legal securities. The shares are also tokenized so your purchase is executed on the blockchain and your holdings are deposited to your attached wallet. This means you really own the shares you buy on Assetbase and that ownership is legally enforceable.

Can I sell my shares before a project reaches completion?

Yes, Assetbase facilitates trading through institutional liquidity partners and proprietary trading infrastructure. This means you can quickly and securely trade your shares in projects or cash out your stake in any asset on Assetbase, just like on a stock exchange. Please note that there’s a minimum hold period of 60 days for all assets purchased, after the funding round has closed.

Is there a minimum investment requirement on Assetbase?

The minimum investment requirement may vary depending on the specific project or campaign. There’s a requirement of a minimum wallet balance of $100 to make the first asset purchase, but there is no restriction on the amount of the first purchase itself. Additionally, the balance restriction is removed after the first purchase.  Each investment opportunity will have its own set of terms and conditions, including minimum investment thresholds. Make sure to review these details before making any investment decisions.

What are the returns on my investments on Assetbase?

Returns vary by asset categories. Potential returns on investing in private businesses will differ from returns on investing in art, real estates or other commodities. We will always state the estimated return for each asset on the individual listing, however for assets like private businesses, returns cannot be estimated as it depends on the company’s ability to raise future rounds at a higher valuation or an exit through an acquisition by a larger company or listing on the stock exchange (IPO).
